We've had our first child so the...

My contract rates have always been comparable with what I earn't in the UK (more now with the exchange rates) & the rates have always been...

Re: "12 Month fixed term engagement" pfffft

I'm a contractor & came over in 2007 & these fixed term job offers became very common during the GFC from 2008.

Agents explained it was due to the uncertainty so it was a convenient way for...

Re: Good year to head back to the UK???

Thanks Slaphead for the heads up.

I hope your sharing your views with the G20 and european govts when you categorically state the euro will fail & all hell will break loose.
At least you admit...

Re: Good year to head back to the UK???

We left UK in 2007, rented the flat out and came over quite relaxed about it all...

Re: Good year to head back to the UK???

Thanks Caroline,

That pretty much sums it up. We both realise (more for me) that I would like to go back for a couple of years & see how we feel before committing either here or there.

We're...

Re: Good year to head back to the UK???

So before we need to think about settling down for schooling etc we thought...

Good year to head back to the UK???

I wanted to throw this out there, more for curiosity to gauge the general consensus from the BE members....all feedback (except insulting welcome).

We're 95% certain at heading back this year for...

Re: To sell or rent flat in St Kilda...

Cheers sonlymewalter.

Thats the problem whether we come back or not!
But I'm not expecting anyone (including me) to be able to answer that one, at least until we've gone back and given it a try...
