Seems like I have now been scheduled for a test on Oct 31st. Heard from my MP, awaiting more details. Haven't received an email with the info yet but that's coming apparently.

Yeah, that's fair to say. Perhaps one of the mods on here knows specifically what the catchment area is for each office. Best of luck with the app and be thankful you're not applying from Toronto!!...

MP's have assistants who deal with these matters so don't worry about the election getting in the way. Mine (Adam Vaughan) has a dedicated immigration parliamentary assistant. You can email your MP's...

On the balance of what people report on here, not usually. Plus the OP advised it was a PC request in this case so I think they'll be nowhere nr the 4 month mark.
