Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

I have an IEC visa (from the 2012 scheme) and will be activating it on the 9th April. I was lucky enough...

Happy New Year!

Thanks - again as always - for such a quick and great answer. It basically clarifies what I thought would be the better option.

My girlfriend...

Re: LMOs and TWPs

I don't want to hijack this thread but I'm in a very similar situation to NiceCaribou (great name, btw). I'm looking for a bit more clarification as I have a Working Holiday Visa which I haven't...

Re: Contacting potential employers on recce Trip

Folks, thanks so much for the suggestions.

Re: Web developers of BC

Yeah I agree Former Lancastrian. (By the way I wasn't "selling myself" there, I was just regurgitating something an employment agent recommended saying. It was a bit of test ;) )

I completely...

I take that fully on-board, Aviator. That being said...

I guess that depends on how specific the needs are for the employer. If I really had to, I could pretty much write a job description where...

Re: IEC 2012 - Time to get Organised!

I'm in pretty much the same boat as you, scarySquirrel. We're actually going early May (16th May is our deadline). Fortunately, my impatience will be placated slightly as we're off on holiday to BC...

Re: Web developers of BC

I might give this thread a little bump as it's also pertinent to my interest, too. Anyone with any web design (or developement) experience have any, err, experience in gaining a full-time job at a...

Re: International Experience Canada

Hey folks, I received my LOI today. Couldn't be more thrilled. I was seriously worried about a few things in my application, but all seems to be fine which is awesome :)

Re: International Experience Canada

I understand entirely and I'm not disagreeing with you. The lack of transparency is something that has been mentioned in countless threads. I really do hope "they" do something about it.

For me,...

Re: International Experience Canada

You should try emigrating. That's where the real fun lies. 7-17 weeks really is, and I mean this in the nicest possible way, absolutely nothing. I'm not saying it shouldn't be significantly easier,...

Re: International Experience Canada

Yep, it's just some patience that is required (I'm pretty much in the same boat), but as we have discussed in this thread, as they're "received" your application, there is a visa waiting for you, if...

Re: Next Year's IEC/BUNAC

From what I understand, the Canadian government have 1 way of defining 'common-law' and each province might have their own way, too. I thing BC says 2 years, others 1. For the sake of PR apps, I know...
