Re: UK and Hungarian State Pension

I know our contributions are up to date as we forked out over 5 1/2 grand last year to make sure we'd get full pensions. Glad we did as they're getting rid of class 2.

Re: Turkey for Christmas dinner - or not.

We had the same problem yesterday. Having tried various alternatives over the years, we now settle on a traditional British Christmas dinner. We usually manage to get a small, whole turkey from Lidl...

Re: Swarfega

I use the granulated paste from Lidl. It has a mild lemon smell and gets most of the dirt and grease off. It comes in a round tub and is on sale in the car accessory section.

Re: I decided to drive to England

I used to live down the road in Rossendale and my last workplace was a children's home in Preston. That was the final straw that pushed me to get the hell out of the UK.
My father was an engineer...

I decided to drive to England

After waiting much longer than normal to get my car back from the mechanic's, new clutch lower suspension arm, spark plugs, I set off across Europe late morning on a Thursday. My plan was completely...

Re: Are the border crossings into Slovakia open?

I set off back to England yesterday and there were no delays whatsoever at the Austrian border, only a slowing down of traffic, which was actually very light.

Re: Are the border crossings into Slovakia open?

I also read that the border restrictions have been lifted, along with the Austrian border crossings, which is good news for me as I'm driving back to England tomorrow.

Re: So, what are you all up to?

Re: Are the border crossings into Slovakia open?

Peter, that's the article that I read but I just wondered how accurate it was. If all those border crossings are closed, how do people travel to work or do business? :/
Arkwright, thank you for...

Re: So, what are you all up to?

We were really taken back by the cost of tolls last year. It was around €80 each way, travelling down through Serbia, N. Macedónia and Greece.

Re: So, what are you all up to?

Re: So, what are you all up to?

Have you been to Dedinky? We've taken day trips there a few times. It's a nice drive for us and we like the scenery there. I want to visit in our motorhome.
We've also stayed in Zakopane, which was...
