Re: Madrid- Public bilingüal schools. English teachers?

I am curious about Madrid. If they call it "enseñanza bilingüe", is it because they teach half in English half in Spanish?? That would be great.

Re: Moving to Javea - looking for advice

Age is in the mind. I know young people who is older than the oldest (in mind), I see them every day. My grandmother used to have (she died at 104!) the youngest spirit of my family!

Re: Moving to Javea - looking for advice

Closed? I go to Arenal beach every single day in winter and I'ld say 80-90% of the bars/restaurants are open. Los Remos, Jalousie, Aqua, Austriaco, La Boheme, Lungo Mare, Pizzeria Pepa,etc... all...

Re: Moving to Javea - looking for advice

I didn't say Moraira is worse than Javea. Only that I go in winter and find it emptier than Javea. Neither of them are ghost towns. Moraira is a beautiful place, and better in some aspects... you...

Re: Madrid- Public bilingüal schools. English teachers?

Yes, that's what happens... We study a lot of grammar. But we don't do any pronunciation! So we can't talk! But that is because of the spanish/argentinian teachers :(

Re: Moving to Javea - looking for advice

I live in Javea. It's not only a resort for retirees, there are younger people too, most on their 30 or 40, specially now that many people work from home. And there are two international schools...

Re: "British people don’t integrate very well into host society"

So you own a restaurant?? :)

I think it is mostly lazyness and ignorance. Most people serve prefabricated food that has nothing to do with Spanish food, is bad and very expensive. You can reduce...

Re: "British people don’t integrate very well into host society"

Aha! You said it! See? So it should be: "British restaurants owners don't integrate very well..." :D
For us, it's a bit difficult to eat English food. Even a simple breakfast. You eat eggs and...

Re: "British people don’t integrate very well into host society"

Re: "British people don’t integrate very well into host society"

In Spain, the new bar owners are chinese. You go to Madrid to a typical tapas bar in the center.... and there are chinese serving Bravas and tortilla de patatas!!

Re: "British people don’t integrate very well into host society"
