Re: Eyup. Edinburgh -> Boston move in progress

MGH is my closest (to my apartment), but, although they're accepting new patients, first appointments aren't until June (!). Apparently Beth Israel Hospital are taking now, though and, rather...

Re: Eyup. Edinburgh -> Boston move in progress

Thanks Bob - I've got insurance through work and have signed up for that, it's just actually identifying the right kind of doctor - every list seems to have umpteen specialities rather than just GP...

Re: Eyup. Edinburgh -> Boston move in progress

Wow, was it that long ago :D

I've been in Boston for 5 weeks now - that wonderful immigration process we all know and love so much actually only took about 4 months. I had to wait until late...

Re: Anyone from Scotland..???

As it happens, I'm only planning on being in Boston for a couple of years - it's a work-related thing. That said, I'm always up for new places and experiences so I don't see it as leaving Edinburgh...

Re: Working in the US ahead of L1-B

Yes, you're right. What I meant was that I'd still be working for the same company (has both US and UK presence) so I'd still be racking up time WITH that company. Just I wasn't entirely sure...

Re: Working in the US ahead of L1-B

Aye, that did occur, hence the inclusion of "whilst the clock counts down", to cover that particular base.

I know the company's keen to get me over there asap and I'm wary. Thus arming myself...

Re: Anyone from Scotland..???

Working in the US ahead of L1-B

*Note - we have engaged an immigration lawyer in the US - I just have a personal desire to find out information for myself as well*

As I mentioned in my other thread clarifying VWP 90day reset, I...

Re: Anyone from Scotland..???

In Edinburgh at the moment, about to move to Boston.

Although I was born here, I was brought up in Reading from the age of 1, so I have an English accent. Which confused the hell out of everyone...

Re: Quick clarification of VWP "resetting"

I think I did hand them in - to be honest, I can barely remember what I had for breakfast yesterday, let alone what I did with a form 3 years ago.

For what it's worth, I certainly remember I had...

Re: SSN needed to Buy a Car?

I can't speak for NJ (in fact, I don't even know if these things vary from state to state anyway), but certainly back in 2008, I rocked up at a lot in Seattle, handed over $3k and drove away without...

Re: Anyone moving to Boston in the Spring?

That caught my eye ;)

Another one headed Boston-wards here. Hopefully in a couple of months (depending on intra-company visa etc). My colleague is starting to flood me with apartment details in...

Quick clarification of VWP "resetting"

Hi folks,

I've read back a fair few pages and I think the answer is "yep, you're ok", but I want to double check specifically as my company is wanting to relocate me to Boston from the UK (L1-B I...

Eyup. Edinburgh -> Boston move in progress

Hi folks,

I've been pointed in this 'ere general direction by someone on a forum elsewhere (Pistonheads if anyone knows it), as I'm currently going through the process of a work relocation from...
