Re: The Ukraine:- Official

I liked living in Ukraine, compared to the other countries I've lived in (Botswana, U.S.A., China). I worked with environmental NGOs there and sidelined as an English teacher. I plan on going back...

Re: The Ukraine:- Official

Well, you'll find a surprisingly high number of people who think that "the Ukraine" is part of Russia - which is is not. Thanks for your sly humor, and for not browbeating me too much for the use of...

Re: The Ukraine:- Official

Having lived in Ukraine for the past 2 1/2 I have found it very amusing when journalists and tourists mistakenly call Ukraine "The Ukraine." I think it's hilarious, and shows that the person...

Re: Spousal Visa Experience From Ukraine to United States

As far as I know, a DCF for a spouse must be done in the spouse's home country.

Re: Ukrainian right to live overseas?

An Exit Visa in Ukraine is also known as a PMZ Stamp, or permission to reside abroad. It's a Soviet era thing, that we hope will end someday.

But for now it's incredibly vague.

The person can...

Answers and a question

She can probably get the PMZ done in Ukraine. But I'm also confused about it.

Make sure your daughter has a US passport, and have her enter Ukraine with a visa (the fee is waived for children)....

Re: PMZ stamp or exit visa from Ukraine

I'm in the same situation. My wife has her immigrant visa to the United States, and we're currently in Kiev.

We have no clear idea whether a PMZ stamp is needed or not, as the message boards...

What is an Aposttle? (my kiev/warsaw experience)

Hello,

I was married in Ukraine, and filed the I-130 in Kiev. I'm sure it's similar to Minsk. I have no idea, however what an Apostle is, and I'm assuming it's like a notary?

Anyway, we...

I-864 is later

You should wait until later. Your spouse will take the I-864 to her interview (which you must provide to her, and have it signed and notarized). If you go to the interview with her, then you can...

Re: Living in Ukraine

I'm afraid the Aztecs and the Incas didn't live in the American Southwest. It was the Anasazi, the Navajo, the Hopi, the Cheyenne, etc. Yes, they were colonized by the Spanish, and were a part of...

Ah, history

It seems like some people here are saying that the U.S. should be forgiven for invading and conquering and massacring so many people over history (like the 1,000,000 Vietnamese, the millions of...

A little Colorado History

Did you know that until 1848 California, New Mexico and other portions of the Southwest were internationally recognized provinces of free Mexico, until the U.S. decided it wanted those provinces,...

Thanks, Sennia

I agree! Whatever happened to that saying, "You are your own best critic?"

If people never criticized the United States at all, there would probably still be slavery, male-only voting, weak...

It's a wide, wide world

Olena,
I've actually grown up not just in the U.S. My family lived in Africa for two years, and then China for two years. Do you know what life is like in Africa? If you had ever been there, you...

Hi Olena in Kiev

Thanks for sharing your perspective Olena.

I've been living in Ukraine for almost 2 years, with only one short trip to Warsaw and Krakow. I've been to the cities of Gorlovka, Sevastapol, Yalta,...

We're doing an I-130

I'm definitely down on the US, but its my country, my birthplace, and where all of my family live. There's no reason not to live there (I can affect change from within). I did like living in...

I-130 from Ukraine

I think the I-130 is relatively straightforward, and quick way to go about getting your husband an immigrant visa. I live with my wife in Ukraine, and I think it only improves our ability to file...

Just my humble opinion

Mr. Travel,

I'm tired of being attacked by you. I wasn't writing to you in the first place, so you shouldn't be insulted.

If you are a fundamentalist or a military person or someone from...

Money

Yes, I live in Ukraine too, and I'm making a Ukrainian salary. So it is an expensive trip for us, even though I'm a US citizen.

Dear Olena,

Again, I'm sorry to offend you with my other post about spousal interviews in Warsaw.

There are many reasons why people should live in Ukraine. In fact I wrote an article called...
