Re: Kitchener - Neighborhoods & Schools

Well, thanks for your help everybody. Lots of different opinions I see. I'll just figure it out when I get there.

Re: Kitchener - Neighborhoods & Schools

I'm not sure what attracts me to that town as I have yet to visit it. For the time being I am arbitrarily putting pins in maps.

Re: Kitchener - Neighborhoods & Schools

Thanks. I actually have another Brit friend who lives in Waterloo. She loves it there. I hadn't realised it was 75 mins to Hamilton from Kitchener. That's a bit of a trek.

Thanks for the school...

Re: Kitchener - Neighborhoods & Schools

I'd just heard that Hamilton was a bit industrial/run down. But I'm certainly open to taking a good look.

Kitchener - Neighborhoods & Schools

OK,

Visas are in passport, cash is in bank and the Morris family are now less than two weeks from landing in Canada! Hurrah!

I already have a job (just doing a transfer with the Canadian...

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

Really? I didn't know that. That's a big step in the right direction.

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

Yes, but while you can't refuse to insure people with a PE you can certainly price them out of the market. So it's a worthless clause.

I don't think the bill releases the stranglehold of the...

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

The Health Care Bill is flawed anyway. The crux of it is that it requires people to buy insurance. But the insurance companies (and their very cosy relationship with "health care providers") is a...

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

Well, as I say. There's no point in destroying yourself with bitterness. As the song goes "Life's a piece of **** when you look at it......."

On the bright side I have 3 houses which, if I can...

Re: London, Ontario

Well, I'm lucky not to have a house to sell. My home is in Florida so it's not worth selling anyway!! - I'm going to try and rent it out.

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

No, not really bitter. But my timing was truly awful having been practically wiped out up by the largest housing market crash in US history (even larger than the one recorded in the Great Depression)...

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

I said "of importance"

Carrying guns isn't considered important or necessary in most of the civilised western world. If that's the only thing that the US Constitution uniquely guarantees "ooh -...

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

To be honest, the US Constitution contains nothing of importance that isn't guaranteed in every other civilised country.

Why Americans bang on about it as if it were some divinely inspired...

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

Look, the US has been a complete and unmitigated disaster for me. Between 2001 and 2005 I "made" $750,000. Since 2006, every penny of that has evaporated and I am now left with three houses which are...

London, Ontario

Well, we made it!

After almost two years (had a few complications along the way!) we finally got our passports stamped and are on our way! Landing in Toronto next month.

We are looking to...
