Re: Does anyone else speak 'Italish'?

The same often happens to my husband when he's in a touristy place. And he's Italian!

Although we speak Italian together, we always say certain words in English, like cuddle and pudding!

Re: Blondies in Italy- question

Me too! I haven't been to an Italian hairdresser for ages now as I just couldn't cope with all the layers they cut in. I just let it grow and then get a good cut when I go back to the UK. As for...

Re: tredicesima e quattordicesima...HELP

Oops, I got the tredicesima and quattoridicesima in the wrong order. When I got them, the quattordicesima was in June and the tredicesima in December. It does depend on your contract but I suppose if...

Re: tredicesima e quattordicesima...HELP

Hi Mr Posh,

I think it works like this.

Say your wife starts work in March 2011, the tredicesima gets paid in June and the quattoridicesima in December. In June she'll have worked for 4 months...

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

OK, I give up! Call my opinions stupid and rubbish if you want. I was only trying to help. No need to be aggressive. Please read all my posts again. You haven't understood anything.

I said that...

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

Did you at least notice that it's the same thing as ritenuta d'acconto?! Can you find any authorative link that says that 'ritenuta d'acconto' is a term meaning receipt? No. Because it isn't. Simple.

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

Aaaah! I get your problem now. You don't get what 'witholding tax' is! I'd post a link but I'm on my mobile. Google it. Nothing to do with tax evasion!

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

Oh gosh Lorna. Please don't get angry! You've missed my point. Ritenuta d'acconto as a concept exists. It means withholding tax. It's money that your employer pays directly to the tax people on your...

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

Hi Lorna, I think you're just confused over terms. Look up ritenuta d'acconto in a dictionary. You'll see it means withholding tax. What you issue the people you work for is often, wrongly, referred...

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

Being a bit pedantic back but ritenuta d'acconto means withholding tax. You can't issue a ritenuta d' acconto. You can issue a notula con ritenuta d'acconto which is basically a receipt with...

Re: Starting Self Employment in Italy + IVA questions

Just to make this a bit clearer, you can issue a "notula" for occasional work. If the person/company you are issuing it to has a partita IVA, they pay 20% of the total amount to the tax people on...

Re: Selling Online?? Not for Italians???

Poste Italiane!! :frown::frown::frown::frown:

Unless you send things raccommandata, at least half of them will go missing. The cost of a raccommandata means that it's not so cost effective to sell...

Re: Moans, groans, grunts and wheezes...

I have Alice ADSL and I've just done the test on this site.

The results are: PING 64 ms, DOWNLOAD SPEED 6.89 Mbps, UPLOAD SPEED 0.40 Mbps.

Is that any good?

Re: Grapes

I found seedless grapes in our local supermarket on Saturday! I got quite excited! All gone now. I'll have to pop over later to see if they've got any left. Hopefully the Italians see seedless grapes...

Re: Schools, teachers, kids and parents. Education in general.

I spent one year teaching English in a scuola materna to the 4-6 year olds. On my first week there, one little boy came running up to me saying "Mario's done a poo!". My reply "Oh, good!". A little...

Re: Moans, groans, grunts and wheezes...

I honestly don't think I've ever seen a child in a carseat where I live

I've always thought it's strange that parents won't let kids go out with wet hair or without a jacket on but they're...

Re: Sky Box question-Duffer help!

Hi Isakat,

For VPN, I can highly recommend My Private Network. It costs £5 a month but there are no ads and it works all the time. Don't know what I'd do without it :D

Re: Moans, groans, grunts and wheezes...

Hang on a minute...

How did you notice your 4000 points had disappeared if your husband was using someone else's loyalty card? Surely it's the 'acquired' card that has no points on it. Maybe you...

Re: I'm a resident - what do I have to do next?

While I agree that INPS is evil, it depends what type of partita iva you have. If you are a commerciante you will have to pay a minimum each year, regardless of what you earn. I have a partita iva to...
