Re: 457>Bridging>De Facto and Working Rights..

Re: 457>Bridging>De Facto and Working Rights..

Thanks for all the responses.

Do you think there's anyway I can speed things up rather than waiting the full 90 days for the 457 to be cancelled? I'd rather not just sit back and wait for the...

Re: 457>Bridging>De Facto and Working Rights..

Hi Dorothy, sorry if I was unclear. I am currently on a 457 visa. I have been made redundant and I am now on the 90-period during which time I should find a new 457 sponsor of the 457 will be...

457>Bridging>De Facto and Working Rights..

I am currently on a 457 visa and was made redundant by my previous sponsor. I am currently on the 90-day period before my 457 expires. My partner and I have lodged a de facto application (she is an...

Re: Expired 457 Visa, what are my options for staying?

One other question, my previous employer says they are not responsible for paying my return flight because I am on a bridging visa. Do you know if this is accurate?

Re: Expired 457 Visa, what are my options for staying?

Okay in the absence of finding a job in the next week I think we will pursue the de facto route. One further question though, we need to lodge / register our relationship and I understand this takes...

Re: Expired 457 Visa, what are my options for staying?

It's 28 days following the withdrawal of the application for a new 457 visa.

I think I'll give it a week and see how the job hunt goes. If no glimmers of hope then I'll pursue de facto. Just...

Re: Expired 457 Visa, what are my options for staying?

It's definitely 28 days, this has been confirmed by Immigration - my old 457 expired so I was / am on a bridging visa.

Can't do the Working Holiday visa, I'm 33 years old.

Seems we could apply...

Re: Sydney CBD Thursday Night Drinks - February 3rd 2011

I'll be making my first appearance, what time do you generally meet? And how do I know I've found the right group of people - just look out for the sunburn? If that's the case I'll be easy to...

Re: Sydney CBD Thursday Night Drinks - January 20th 2011

I know it's only Saturday, but where will the next Thursday night meet up be?! I moved out to Sydney about three weeks ago, currently living in Circular Quay and need some extra human interraction!
