My employer wrote a letter to state why I was needed, simple as that, yes it was just that in my case as a skilled worker. So not necessarily what you say on that one is accurate for everyone.

I am aware they are around us.. thankfully not in my neighbourhood now as I avoided Surrey like the plague a year or so ago, now I quite like it here, they are more active in Vancouver instead, and...

Yes I was, the only boarding school in Reigate isn't it?

It was like prison there when I was there, more freedom now I believe, but a good school all the same as far as sports goes etc.

Air Transat are fantastic!

I flew one way from Canada back to UK, as could not get a return with them for some reason, and it was one of the best flights I had, and I had a spare seat next to me...

I actually had a good experience driving there, better than Vancouver airport in that I stayed at an inexpensive motel about 5 mins away from the airport car parking, and in the morning it all went...

I concur on the cutting out extra tax charges for flying from Seattle, I think I saved over $100 for flying from there down to Denver when I went skiing with a likeminded ski group down at Steamboat...

Put it this way, when I moved over I brought my hifi with me, and my epilator, and I had to purchase a converter here to use the UK plug on the Canadian plug outlet.

As long as not too powerful...

If you book a flight from Seattle it is always cheaper than if you book from Vancouver, just a thought for anyone flying from this end of the continent.

Work permit first, if you have a job lined up that is, as work permit restricts you to solely that employer until you get permanent residency.

If you get permanent residency before you come over...
