Default To take or not to take our I MAC?

Hi, we have recently bought a I mac - but the big question is will it work in Canada?

Also does anyone know if a wii works - I sure hope so or my son will be crushed!!

Many thanks

Check the power supply, what does it say?

For the wii you will need to get a 110V PS I suspect. Video output via the composite cable should be fine, so existing games should be OK.

The wii will work, you just need to change the power supply from a Uk one to a Canadian one...Not sure about the IMAC, email Apple or pop down to a store..

Or just google

Seems you just need a different plug cord.

Yes, but it's worth it. Power adjustments aside, think of all the opportunities and a better life his I Mac will have in Canada.

It's for the kids really. Seriously though, the Apple site didn't have them listed although Google reveals 3rd party vendors selling at $30 ( or just use a plug adapter from Dollar store ).

We're bringing our Wii over, and have read conflicting info. I'm sure it will work with exising games, but does it work with ones you've bought locally? I've read on one forum that Nintendo made their games region free, but its up to other manufacturers can make their own choices.

So are Canadian games oK on it?

Wii will work with existing games from the UK, pretty sure they wont play North American wii games though..mind you can buy a Wii in Canada with 2 titles for $129.

We took our iMac to Canada and used it fine for 3 years, all i did was put a canadian plug on the power lead. The wii will work ie power up etc. However, non of the Canadian games will work as they are region coded.

Hope this helped

Wii is the only one of the 3 major current consoles which is 100% region locked so unless a UK Wii is modified then North American games will not run on it.

thanks for your info on the wii. It confirms what I had read elsewhere, but always helpful to ask people who have actually tried it!
