Yes, I agree. The "English" taught in French schools uses some very. technical words for tenses etc.

I am shocked that French children are not taught the difference between "can" and "may"...

I've found that with 2 French banks (CIC and Soc Marseillaise) that credit / debit card charges are negotiable. Talk to the directeur of you bank!

Is it perhaps not "tax" but "social security" (NI in the UK). I have the pleasure to pay this SS on pensions, dividends and bank interest (does anyone here remember back to those days!).
