Unless skiing is a must have I suggest you look at the Morvan and/or Jura.

I'm current stuck in the porte du Soleil region, near Lake Geneva, looking after a friend who's had a bad skiing...

Walking in the snow: advice.

If you walk pigeon toed on sheet ice / sheet ice covered by snow, you as less likely to fall over.

I only remembered this advice when I took a curve too fast in my wellies - Now I have a purple...

I have a vague idea that the handicapped access rules only apply to new businesses _ so that they are at a cost disadvantage to existing ones to keep the unemployment rate as high as possible!

Don't worry.

My 9 year old niece came I stayed with me for 6 months with about 5 hours of French lessons before she came....she coped.

The BBC has quite good language resources... don't be...
