I got my green card a few months ago after moving over on a K-1. My SS card originally had the notation saying 'only valid for work with DHS...

I'm a personal banker wth experince in both the US and UK.

You do not need to be a resident of the US to open a bank account here. (nor do you need to be resident of the UK to open an account...
