Re: Luggage Recommendations

Thanks. The latest is however that Samsonite won't replace the case but they will replace the lock that doesn't work.

Re: Luggage Recommendations

The notes never say why in my experience, I've had it happen at Key West, Las Vegas and Newark so far.

Re: Luggage Recommendations

Unfortunately I purchased what I though was a purple case, when it turned up it was more pink! One of the problems of Internet shopping!

Re: Luggage Recommendations

Antler do cases, about half the price of Samsonite. That's the favourite so far!

Luggage Recommendations

My 12 year old Samsonite bit the dust last year when it fell prey to the TSA, it didn't have a TSA lock on it and despite the fact it wasn't locked they managed to break it open and destroy the...

How Times Change!

Over 20 years ago now I lived in Parma for a number of years, before the whole 1992 Europe thing. I remember the days of the local police coming round to look at where I slept (Do they still do...

TV Channels

We have Time Warner Cable at home and have the usual collection of hundreds upon hundreds of channels, most trying to sell you the latest fitness DVD. So far my favourite channels are HBO, Showtime,...

Re: Instant Coffee

Totally agree with the choice of Illy for Espresso!

I had some McD's coffee on Monday on the way back from a long weekend in Boston. It wasn't good, it wasn't bad. I didn't like the UHT milk they...

Re: Instant Coffee

Which coffee are you using in the Keurig then? My OH ordered a shed load of them recently before we decide to throw the machine out. Which brand do you recommend?

Re: Instant Coffee

That is my definition of instant cawfee too but you know what it's like online, you start talking about instant coffee and the thread ends up on something completely unrelated such as cold fusion or...

Re: 1st visit to Las Vegas & Hawaii

I'll bow to your superior knowledge of LV then! The MGM always feels central to me in terms of casinos but you're right, it's not geographically central! I've stayed at either end of the strip, at...

Re: Instant Coffee

Now there's another story - we have a drip coffee maker at home but I haven't found a coffee I like the taste of yet to put in it. My OH likes the Dunkin' Donuts blend - any recommendations?

Also...

Re: Instant Coffee

I don't want to keep heading out to the local Starbucks. :)

Seriously, I love Espresso but tend to only drink it in evenings hence why I wanted to track down my UK staple.

Re: 1st visit to Las Vegas & Hawaii

The MGM is nice and central, you can walk to a bunch of places (casinos!) without going outside, nearby you have the Luxor, Excalibur and Mandalay Bay. You also have New York New York (try the roller...

Instant Coffee

I've yet to find it but do they sell Gold Blend in the USA? Perhaps it has a different name? If not, what's the closest to it? I've been drinking Nescafe's Tasters Choice, which isn't bad. Any other...

SkyTV in the USA?

Can you get it in the USA? If not, how about their Sky Anywhere (Anytime?) service?

Does anyone have experience of using a UK Proxy to use iPlayer and so on?

Cheers!

Re: Is it really better in England, or just rose tinted glasses?

I've been coming and going all over the USA for many years and more recently I got engaged to my girlfriend and will be moving to New York permanently when the K-1 process is done. I've spent a lot...

Re: K1/L1 Question

Ah! And here I was thinking it was some US Immigration term, no wonder a search for it on the USCIS revealed nothing. :)

Re: K1/L1 Question

I read somewhere that going to the US on a H or L Visa and then getting married shortly after is viewed as suspicious by the USCIS. If they see that I have a pending K1 surely they would know my...

Re: K1/L1 Question

Thanks Ian. It's a question of seeing which way the wind goes when it comes to my employer.

Surely if I get married (not immediately of course) after entering on my L1 my I'll get my GC after...
