No I had to do no trade test or phone interview..
As far as I know the standard Irish 4 year apprenticeship is good enough experience for them. :)

Possibly other country's systems might not...

I applied under a working holiday visa if I go I intend to get the SA licence, work in Adelaide if possible and hopefully get sponsored.

I wrote I intended to reside in SA.

After a long wait...Application on the received 01/04/11 and granted on the 30/05/11!
If I got a euro for every time I checked TRAs website in the last two months id be a rich man!

I posted off my Artc application a while ago and I was wondering how long on average it takes to get an email from them confirming they have received it?
I posted it from Ireland.

I would not worry about the religious aspect any way!
The only way you i see new people who move here getting in trouble is when they buy a house etc in an area...

Another option for you if you want to get a taste of it and see if its for you is go do a season in America with a custom cutter. They are teams that start in the south of the country and head north...
