1. at the customs they dont check your immigration status anymore, and they just scan your passport?
2. I mean, after the name change procedure, do you need to carry around...

if someone who applied to naturalization and has children from previous marriage, and they dont live with the applicant,
would s/he need to bring their birth certificates...

I agree with Rete's suggestion to keep everything. Also, I think it's s great idea to make electronic copies (scan all papers) so you have a backup:) congrats again!

the thing is that i knew people in the past who came to the U.S. on two J-1 visas back to back, 18 moths each time. But then again, it was in early 2000s, maybe things have...

from what I know,
if you dont have a 2 year home-residency requirement on your J-1 visa, you can apply for another non-immigrant or even immigrant visa.
But if you have that requirement, then you...
