Re: Brisbane Train Website

Yes, that's a tricky one. Difficult by both train and bus. It is doable in theory but would take a while and a bit of messing about.

Probably would need to look at a taxi although it gets a bit...

Re: Half the year in UK, Half in Australia

It seems that we are able to suspend our private health insurance with MBF and Medibank Private for the months we are away. This currently costs around $300 per month.

Re: Ticket booked, brisbane in eight weeks any advice

Don't rush into any area. Take your time, have a good look around. Rent for a while and just get a feel for the place.

There are so many good areas to live in Brisbane and a few dodgy ones as...

Re: Half the year in UK, Half in Australia

Yes, the canal boat is an interesting option and one we should seriously consider. Particularly as the canal system is opening up more and more as time goes on.

We enjoyed a canal boat holiday in...

Re: Half the year in UK, Half in Australia

Any thoughts on the car issue. Is it practical to buy one, pay road tax and insurance, keep it for 5/6 months and then hope to sell and not make a substantial loss?

Or is renting for this period a...

Cool Re: Melbourne or Brisbane

Like all locations both have their positive and negative aspects. Don't make any firm decisions until you visit and spend time in both places.

Melbourne is a beautiful city, businesslike, cooler,...

Smile Re: Distance from Sunshine Coast to Brisbane

Both the road and train are getting busier as more people take advantage of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle. Many people do this trip each day but it can be wearing, particularly if you are living...
