taking pets with you when you move?

has anyone done this? just wondering how much of a pain in the backside this would be, we have a one year old cat and i think he would like to come with us when we go, (and i would like him to come...

i hear there are tests and stuff you have to take with in the first 6 months of being there, is this true if you have a job working with a Company?, my girlfriend and I have only just started to look...
