Re: The "I Must Get Me Tickets To That Brisbane Gig" Thread

The Entertainment Centre is a horrid, cement like edifice however I saw Leonard Cohen there last year and he was magnificent. If you admire the man don't miss the concert (which is made all the more...

Re: Knocking down all the nice buildings here

The BCC planning rules - hah. Are those the same rules that have just allowed the monstrosity of a square (St George I think they've called it) outside the city hall? Cement, cement and more...

Short term accommodation Singapore

After much to-ing and fro-ing we still aren't in Singapore yet. The plan now is only to spend 6 months there before heading back to Paris.

Re: Knocking down all the nice buildings here

What is wrong with these people. I can't believe this - it just shouldn't be allowed. I really feel like crying when I read about these beautiful, historical buildings being vandalised and...

Knocking down all the nice buildings here

I was out a walk this morning along the river and as I crossed the Goodwill Bridge I saw that they've knocked down all those beautiful old Queenslander buildings. There was a couple...

Re: Would you Buy a House right now !!!!

Typical RE comments. Actually it's all to do with timing if you are "in property as an investment". You are either lucky or not. It's nothing to do with being clever or smart or anything like...

Re: Would you Buy a House right now !!!!

This kind of post really makes me scream. Houses are homes NOT ATM machines. It's people like you "making a fortune in 8 months" that have ruined your children and grandchildrens' chances of ever...

Re: Anyone hopped the ditch from NZ to Oz?

We lived in NZ 5 years ago for a short time and are now in Brisbane. As we're not "Poms" or "Kiwis" I doubt you are interested.

Hmm I wonder if I can guess what you are.

Re: To Rent or Sell in the UK

Sell while you can. Renting is just one big hassle normally. I reckon property is going to continue crashing in the UK for a long time to come so you'd be best cutting your losses now.

Re: who else can't sell house in Uk and has visa
