Re: real estate prices in Canada sustainable?

Recent sale just round the corner from me - small-ish lot of 0.5ac with well and septic in...

Raining lightly here now - possibly thunderstorms coming.
Has been 34 here over the weekend. Gardened on Saturday morning from 8am, but had to come in at 10:30am, as it was too hot to work in the...

Never mind!

Bramley cooking apples

Anyone know where to get them?
The rubbish, sweet, pappy apples used for cooking here so far have left me decidedly underwhelmed, and my roast pork without a suitable partner.

Re: Wine

Festive bubbly this year is Backyard Vineyards' Blanc de Noir - very nice it is, too. Pass several wineries on the way home from work, so trying them all.
Well, it would be foolish not to, wouldn't...

Re: Three years today

That's kind!
I have worked so hard - volunteering my time for free to get noticed and get a way in. It worked, though!
Now, I think as long as I have my husband and we are happy together, wherever...

Re: Three years today

Thanks, Ann m.
I am getting some Folk contacts in Seattle now through performing as well, which is reasonably accessible (for here) and has lots of Folk things on.
I''ll look up those locations!

Re: Three years today

Thanks! It has seemed fraught and frantic so far. Every time we think it has calmed down and we can settle for a while, stuff happens.

We are on the fringes of civilisation:p , somewhere near...

Re: Three years today

Thanks, Steve!
We had a few issues early on that took a lot of sorting out. We were living here for two years, with a lot of aggro, before things finally were resolved.
Now it is calmer, we can...

Re: Four years and going strong

You have probably fished up near us! A bit "end of the line" up here.
It is great seeing the eagles and watching the fish swim by.
We wouldn't swap with the city.

It is beautiful and tranquil, definitely.

Glad the four years has been kind to...

Three years today

So, three years have gone by since I landed at YVR and I am thinking over what has happened in that time.

When I arrived, I couldn't even work for the first two months. Then I was only TWP,...

Re: The new Doctor Who - no spoilers

:goodpost:
Agreed!
More tension, more bite, more danger, more sarcasm and black humour, more real bad guys, more evil, more conflicting emotions, more challenge!

Re: The new Doctor Who - no spoilers

I thought it was a bit muddled but not terrible.

But PLEASE, for goodness' sake, NO MORE OF CLARA'S LOVE LIFE!

It is BORING and panders to the adolescent mindset that ruined the last series....

Re: The new Doctor Who - no spoilers

I like him!

Re: The new Doctor Who - no spoilers

That was in my Dr Who 'dark period'. I did not watch it between deciding Peter Davidson was pants and when Christopher Eccleston took over.

Re: The new Doctor Who - no spoilers

Please!
Can't it be Christmas? Get the soldier girl from the last episode back as companion.
She would be a good foil to the Dr, rspecially as she is,what he dislikes - a soldier.

Re: The new Doctor Who - no spoilers

Yes, the whole DT cast was fabulous and gelled well, right down to Bernard Cribbins and June Whitfield.

Capaldi has promise, but he needs some quality...
