Good question, it's always very difficult to find the best rate. Are you keeping all UK accounts and setting up a couple in France? There are good tax benefits to better yet moving it in sterling...

Definitely go offshore, I've used a company called Abbey Financial Solutions before and they've handled everything for me; it's a lot more tax efficient.

I've recently moved to France and just wonder what I need to do (back in the UK?) in order to gain non tax status in the UK? I plan to stay here now and feel I should become fully tax...
