Best FX site

Hello,
I am about to transfer and convert some money from the UK to USA.
Did a bit of research, and it appeared that XE were the best.
When I went to place a 'trade' I found out about 'mid-rates'....

Re: 6 Strikes

I originally said that I got the strike for downloading -which I assumed I had.
On closer inspection the 'Alert' refers to file sharing. So I guess they could be tracking either or both -maybe they...

Re: 6 Strikes

The warning was for "Copyright Infringement" -no more details.
It would be interesting to know which downloads specifically triggered this alarm.

6 Strikes

Well I just got my first warning from the A&TT. I see all sorts of advice about proxy servers and vpns which I don't really want to go through.
I was wondering what the alternatives are?
What I was...

Re: Same Realtor for both sides.

Just two points to make. First of all, how can a 'buyer's agent' really be acting in your interest? Sure they can provide some due diligence and useful info, but in truth all that info is freely...

Re: Bilderburg Meeting in Watford Soon

Sorry it's not from Alex Jones website. But what a lovely bunch of people. I'm sure they all have our best interests at heart.

Bilderburg Meeting in Watford Soon

What do you make of that? Any opinions or is this something about nothing?
It's going to cost the UK taxpayer millions in security. Why doesn't the mainstream media cover this?

Re: Who isn't going to vote?

The past several weeks have made one thing crystal-clear: Our country faces unmitigated disaster if the Other Side wins.

No reasonably intelligent person can deny this. All you have to do is look...

Re: Who isn't going to vote?

Well Romney's said he will get rid of the hobo Bernanke. If he promises to clear out the rest of the architects of our financial demise I might have to register.
No real danger of that happening is...

Re: Who isn't going to vote?

I haven't finished the book so I'll give a bad synopsis.

Basically it explains why Wall St leaders are democrats; banks see big government as an opportunity for big profits -obvious maybe but not...

Re: Who isn't going to vote?

Has anyone else read "Bought and Paid for" by Gasparino?
It's an interesting take on why Wall St chose Obama over Clinton and McCain back in 2008.

Who isn't going to vote?

I have no intention of even registering as it stands. Romney's biggest financial contributor is Goldman Sachs as is Obama's. JPMorgan Chase is the second biggest contributor to both candidates too....

Re: Haggling down on a used car in CA.

I bought a car 6 months ago from a dealer. I offered 16% less and paid 11% under. I didn't cite any problems and I wasn't going to pay the asking price on principle even though it seemed good value...

Re: Katy TX to Chicago 'burbs...

Hello Katie, I have lived in Downers Grove for the last 3 years and like the neighborhood. The fast train gets into Chicago in less than 30 minutes.
I hear the local schools are good. My kids aren't...

Re: record number of americans renounce their citizenship to avoid paying taxes

Thank you for the link -that's some useful info.
It doesn't look like it needs to be an expensive process,
but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who knows anything about the costs in practice....

Re: record number of americans renounce their citizenship to avoid paying taxes

Does anyone know about the process of renouncing an American passport?
Is it an extensive process and more importantly, is it particularly expensive?

Re: Denied entry to the USA - why??

The comeback to the person with over 9000 posts would be too easy so I will restrain myself.
& if it adds to the hilarity, yes, I think at some point in my life I have stayed at a Holiday Inn.
I...

Re: Denied entry to the USA - why??

There seems to be an assumption in this thread that the OP will get a green card. While I wish him luck in this endeavor, it is certainly not a certainty.

I will touch on the flagging issue one...

Re: Denied entry to the USA - why??

In response to the earlier posts -once you're flagged -you're flagged.
It doesn't matter whether you've got a visa since you got flagged, or you've got a green card. It still appears on the system,...

Re: Denied entry to the USA - why??

This is one person's experience and backed up by two conversations with different immigrations officers.
If anyone has experience or evidence that this is not the case then I'd like to hear it.

Re: Denied entry to the USA - why??

Once they had decided that you weren't going to enter, what happened to you was standard procedure. If there had been a convenient return flight sooner then you may have avoided jail, but for...

Re: Who to complain to about rude immigration officers at Chicago O'Hare??

I think that video illustrates how things can be worse. It's not nice to listen to and I would suggest that even without his stroppy attitude things can go horribly wrong.
In response to an earlier...

Re: Who to complain to about rude immigration officers at Chicago O'Hare??

Ok Ian, I think you make valid points and I agree with you in theory but not in practice.
First of all, rights are only enforcible in the US if you have the finances to employ a good lawyer....
