FINALLY the wait is over! 4th of July 2011 landed as immigrant after more than 2 weeks of waiting for our passports to be returned during the Canada post strike.

Thanks Vbomb. CIC is just not consistent. A friend of mine also used to work in Saudi managed to waive the police clearance by sending a letter year and got his PR February this year.

It's been almost a month since my file has been transferred to Detroit but haven't heard anything from Detroit itself. Would it be futile to send them an email or should I just wait for 90 days...

Trying to revive the topic. My gut feeling is house prices will eventually go down but not crash. As to when who knows? RE market correction maybe more appropriate but I'm no expert by any means.

Thanks for your quick reply. So let's say in 10yrs on a higher tax bracket and decided want to leave Canada so would probably taxed 30% on my contributions hence my questions would I rather be better...

I haven't contributed to my RRSP yet for 2 simple reasons: still new to Canada and 2ndly not 100% that we are going to move again. So for purposes of argument let's say we will stay for 5 or 10 years...

There are a lot of good schools in BC. We live in Burnaby and there are handful of good schools in our neighbourhood. If you want stats here's lists of top performing secondary schools in BC....

And I guess if you need to apply for extension of the kids study permit it is expensive $125 each and CIC would gladly take your money if you submit an application with no question ask;)

That's right Jim it's the BC care card and has an expiry date which will be next month for my kids. Sent off letter from school today to Health Insurance BC.

IMHO it's very clear in CIC website so...

Thanks for the link dboy. That's very reassuring that we knew we are living in one of the safest neighbourhood in Burnaby and perhaps in BC. There's no wonder there's only limited lists of properties...
