Bike / LGV licence's in Alberta?

Hi,

Can anyone tell me if a british motorbike or a LGV class2 licence allows you to ride / drive in Alberta the same as it is ok for a car ??

The reason for heading to wetaskiwin is that I will be working there soon (end of the year) and were looking to do a bit of a recce mission this summer..
So after visiting jasper etc,...

Yeah we aren also considering looking to rent in Edmonton, though we weren't sure if the commute to work for myself would be too much.. And not knowing the roads, if would it be difficult to travel...

My husband is a firefighter in britain at the moment. And as there can be a long selection process to get into this he is willing to work in other areas of employment.
