Hi,
Can anyone recommend where my husband and I should stay this july.
We are travelling from jasper,(then making our way east to edmonton) and are unsure where the best place to stay over in either rocky mountain house / red deer or wetaskiwin?
Any advice would be appreciated thanks

Red Deer is about an hour (maybe more) south of Edmonton. If you're heading to Edmonton anyway, no point in going to Red Deer at all....

I believe the OP is heading back south from Jasper and taking the David Thompson highway back to central Alberta then up to Edmonton.
I don't think there is any best place to stay. I would base it on how much driving you want to do that day and the next. Red Deer is the bigger place with more options but Rocky will also have lots of accommodation (it is an oil town so lots of hotels/motels). Neither are that exciting as stopovers. If it were me I would probably try to stay in Sylvan Lake but at the height of summer finding accomodation would be harder and you would have to book ahead. I wouldn't go all the way to stay in Wetaskwin unless you have some other reason to be there earlier (I would go to the Reynolds Museum though).

Thanks,
The reason for heading to wetaskiwin is that I will be working there soon (end of the year) and were looking to do a bit of a recce mission this summer..
So after visiting jasper etc, we'l be heading east. though werent sure on whether to stay in rocky mountain house since its a bit closer, or drive that little bit further to red deer / wetaskiwin??
Thanks for all advice though, will also check out Sylvan Lake..
