are you looking at third party fire and theft? because comprehensive can be a fair bit cheaper, don't ask me how that works!!! it was about half the price for us.

Exactly, all I asked the OP if she was aware of the UK requirements, then someone else decided to post an answer to the effect it just required some forms filling, obviously I wish I hadn't bothered...

I certainly think they are unfair, and designed to deter people, but where there is a will, there's a way, I don't suppose you've got a British parent or grandparent have you?

I guess you realise that being married to a British citizen does not give you a automatic right to live in the U.K? you'd still have some hoops to jump through first.
