What I am saying is the original passport should not have been sent to the IRS in the first place!

I doubt if they *need* you to send the original passport.
Usually, notarized copies work, no?

I do use portable keypass that is inside the true crypt container on the USB. (so passwords in keypass are automatically double encrypted, not that keypass requires it though..)

The amount and nature of the data I carry on my USB key is just scary!
So I always keep it encrypted using true crypt (http://www.truecrypt.org)

Too bad I can't true crypt my cell phone! I won't...

Thanks Max&Ozzy. I do plan to a rental in Brisbane and Sydney, not sure if i want to drive from Melbourne to Brisbane. Google says its 21 hours non-stop! :eek:
