Honest Goan Property Solicitors - Is there such a thing?

Hi,
With all the issues that expats are facing in India I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread that brought together the experiences that people have had and have an opportunity to name...

Re: UNBIASED ADVICE ON GOA ISSUES....

I've been reading this thread with an increasing unease.

I've found the Buyer Beware thread a very good source of information. It was advice on that forum that led me to acquire PIO and now OCI...

Re: Tourist Visa Requirements

Wow!
So I'm either a drunk, on another planet or outright lying because I dare to voice a different opinion.
I am sure I would be bitter and see everthing as sh*t if I had made Goa my home and...

Re: Tourist Visa Requirements

Hi Goacrazy,a_f_d,
Yes I am in Goa for three to four months a year. Back in the UK now. I guess the thing is that I don't really see a big difference between the lawlessness and corruption here...

Re: Tourist Visa Requirements

Hi,
I wouldn't wish the experiences of FNs on this board on anyone and I completely understand the associated bitterness and anger. I would feel the same were I subjected to the same.
However, I...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Scary thing is the veracity with which he made his statement. He was absolutely convinced.

Playing devil's advocate, however, can anyone tell me why this would not work? If the property remains...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Hi,
Not sure if this is a scam or a lifeline. But I was talking to a developer (UK based) and he said that a FN could arrange for a lifelong (99 year) private lease with the developer. The developer...

Re: PIO applications - beware

Agreed. It is tough and basically comes down to the amount of documentation you have to substantiate your claim. Luckily my mum (darling that she is) kept grandmothers passport, birth certificate and...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Hi Tush,
Apologies if I came across as criticising your post. It's just that in the short time I have been posting on this forum I have found it to be an invaluable source of information. However...

Re: GOA - Buyer Beware!

Please use the RBI statement. Do not under any circumstances rely on paraphrasing by property companies :frown:

Re: Acron Homes

There may be a glimmer of hope. My maternal grandmother is Indian. But to look at me you would never think I had any Indian heritage, father is English, grandma married an italian. Did a bit of...

Re: In To-day's Newspapers

Comments like the above are extremely unhelpful. It's not like rape (as evil as it is) doesn't happen on a daily basis in the UK.

Re: Acron Homes

Sorry if I've reopened old wounds. And thanks for your response. They've been a great help. I guess I'm just having difficulty understanding what's driving the Indian authorities all of sudden and...

Re: Acron Homes

Thank you. Sounds pretty pointless trying to buy unless you are an NRI or PIO. It is so important you stay within the letter of the law. I wouldn't dream of doing anything other than that in the UK...

Re: Acron Homes

Thanks so much. Just a general point - what about those that bought years ago. Are they ok? I can understand that if someone acquires an Indian Passport they would be able to buy (but would have to...

Re: Acron Homes

Thanks for that. If you read through their FAQ's there is absolutely nothing to suggest there are any restrictions on being able to buy.
I guess their lawyers would have to make it clear when anyone...

Re: Acron Homes

Hi,
I'm a little confused. From this thread it would seem that there is no problem for a foreign national to buy an Acron home?
Is this the case?? It would seem to go against everything that has...
