Re: b2 visa application

It's not clear from your OP but if you're planning on volunteering in Hawaii as well as the 48 states, then producing evidence of this should get you a B-2 visa. Expect a mild grilling at the...

Re: How realistic is it to obtain a Visitor visa for a year?

Eh?

The text I quoted is from the Nonimmigrant Visas section of the web site, so how is it talking about immigrant status? All the 'spouse' visas like J-2 and H-4 (to give just 2 examples) are...

Re: How realistic is it to obtain a Visitor visa for a year?

Agreed! But the US Embassy advice says "U.S. visa law does not recognize common-law relationships; therefore a partner or fiancée is not eligible to apply for derivative visa status." and "Partners...

Re: How realistic is it to obtain a Visitor visa for a year?

Re: How realistic is it to obtain a Visitor visa for a year?

Why is everyone so negative? (oops, n00b question! :D)

It would help her case a lot if she can get a letter from her employer formally allowing her leave of absence from x date to y date.

I'm...

Re: Making an appointment for H1B Interview in London American Embassy

Yes, you can be that specific!

Have you stayed on the line to talk to an agent? They will have the actual latest date available: dates are released around 2 months in advance.

I needed to...

Re: Child wants to learn to drive in California

ITINs are no longer valid for non-tax purposes, such as DMV applications. Not officially (http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-utl/itin_dmv_info.pdf) anyway.

Exception to the...

Re: Tijuana Border crossing for I-94

The typical vehicle crossing wait at Tijuana/San Ysidro is around 2-3 hours, according to the reports on KPBS in San Diego. People who live in TJ cross every day to work, so I can't see it taking 4...
