Oh! Yes, the questions on the eTA certainly do put their options in a different and.. rather dim light. I don't have the answers to your other questions, and.. I suspect they won't be forthcoming.

Technically they can only give permanent jobs to permanent residents or citizens - otherwise the job is for the period of your visa.

I don't have it any more, but arriving to Canada by road in a private vehicle back from weekends away in the US, many times I just handed over my PR card and they never asked for my passport ;)

It was a pretty nice view, but it was a lower floor. We now live in a sub-penthouse in Richmond, with 270 degree views North West. Much better ;)
