Thanks all for the responses, I still am a bit hesitant about installing it though, as I am no whiz kid on the computer front......think I will hold off for a while!!!

yeh, I only upgrade the apple stuff when i'm forced. That's normally at 2.5 years old and you are prepared to throw the thing away by then anyway if the update is rubbish.

im not quite that bad, usually 2-3 updates behind so that there are plenty of online solutions by the time i risk it

I had a Macbook that lasted 7 years before finally crashing for good. I don't think I ever did an upgrade on it.
Now on year 2 on my new Macbook.
Hate Apple but it's better than everything else so what can I do? I refuse to get an iPhone or any other Apple products.

My only issue with it is purely personal - having used PC's and Windows my entire life, learning the new commands and how to work stuff, find things, operate on Yosemite or whatever it's called is still a little alien.
I actually miss the simplicity of My Computer when moving stuff around!
