Re: Shape Up in 2011
Yes, I woz there and completed the 5k leg in a ladies relay team. We were all novices at this triathlon malarkey, and for the record, I couldn't run for a bus 4 months ago and am still a bit of a podger. We came 4th out of 6 teams in the ladies sprint relay -sigh of relief we were not last! Not too shabby for a first attempt.
Anyway youz lot out there that are thinking of doing it, you should. It is the perfect outdoor sport for living here (when you can't be bothered with the long drive to semi decent diving). I have already signed up for the individual sprint in the Abu Dhabi Internatioanl Triathlon in March.... Kudos to the Commander for his encouragement. P.S. Anyone got a ladies bike they want to sell? :) |

Re: Shape Up in 2011
I joined the gym at the weekend. The PT reckons I can go from a 38-inch waist to a 32-inch easily within the three months.
Once that's done, it's more stamina building and toning the muscles. I'm not going overboard. I'd rather be able to live than have to worry about eating white bread and so on. |

kidding, just go alone..get your ipod looked out and do some short times. Dont worry about distance, concentrate on time. 15mins, 20mins, 25mins etc..build it up.. Speak to weescot...she has done brilliantly |

I always go on my schedule - however if i feel like i dont want to go - i force myself to go and promise that if i still feel i dont want to carry on after 15 mins of warm up then i can lose the session. 99% of the time i carry on with the scedule. The other thing is possible "over-training" - different people have different limits - due to my schedule i am literally counting the hours so i can hit the gym - and im making the best progress ever |
