Even I - the exercise phobic - have been thinking about doing some form of exercise and even got as far as obtaining the number of a private yoga instructor, but I have been diagnosed with Labyrinthitis (an inner ear infection which affects your balance) so won't be able to do anything for weeks now.

That'll teach me to think about being healthy.

Sorry about your ankle BC

this is the area that i let mysef down. You should never train when ill. I always do. I have been punishing myself for weeks with a cold and the result is that it has moved down to my chest and i am constantly coughing like a dog.

Im using this wee break to US of A to chill a little, well, only 2hrs per day:D

Hi kittycat1 - for a great weightloss just eat high protein, low carb and dont worry about the fat (i essentially cut out everything white carbs - so no rice, bread, pasta, milk) - I mix that with a fast for 2 days a week (basically skip breakfast and lunch). Add that with a 20 min high intensity session every other day (something like skipping) and the weight falls off. Thats what works for me but your mileage may be different

nice one, i cant agree with the fasting for 2 days though and missing breakfast is a sin:D

hey, it obviously works for you. Nice one

Done two Marathons in Jan and got a 10k this weekend.

Then off to Dibba for the Wadi Bih on the 11/2 72k with a 1000m climb and drop.

Then I need a new goal, just seen a run in the UK in April 3 back to back marathons in Devon??????

Hi Autonomy

I did some quite serious research on that and paelo and leangains so my current "diet" is a mix of all the good things from there plus heavy and high intensity workout (i.e. 20 mins or less) and listening to my body (rather than take a generic plan and try to shoehorn it to me)

Hi Commander

I agree with you. I have to have breakfast on the days im training, but i fast for 2 days (may have to cut that to one day as i am dropping too much weight quickly).

Saying that I sin enough on my cheat meals - I usually have 2 cheat meals per week (variety pack, large pepperoni pizza, 4 donuts and a coke (full fat) for one meal last week !!)

ach, I feel for you! I "sprained" my ankle back in October and got refered for an MRI a couple of weeks back because it was still painful... turns out I've been walking on a fractured ankle for the last 3 months. Unfortunately, the doctor forbade me to run at all for the next 3 months (such a shame...) but also to cut out the long walks... pants. Not in a cast... only time and taking it easy will heal it.
