ah right. i don't know mate. i guess you could bring food/drink with you, but then again if you're in a remote camp that's going to be a bit of a pain if we're talking several days/weeks worth...

I'll be living on the site. I've been reassured that it won't be an issue, but I can't see me getting there before mid-September anyway with client approvals and visas and so on. Thanks anyway!

Friday 13th is great day to fly as so many superstitious people avoid travelling then.
All a load of religious based nonsense anyway.

I have never once had alcohol on a plane... apple juice and tea all the way. I don't generally eat either. I always find that the food is crap and the thought of alcohol a no no...!
I'm the freak that sits there with a blanket on his head the whole way!

Used to take the opportunity to get loads of booze down me, now I very rarely drink (except water) and even more rarely eat (usually fly KLM, need I say more?). The Chicken Alexander in the Al Ghazal lounge is usually decent, then head down all the way back to AMS--quite often asleep before we take off and the jolt of landing wakes me up.

The quality of airplane food is a lot better than it used to be - no joke.
I've been flying regularly all my life and the trend was 1980s-decent food with real cutlery - 1990s crap food with plastic cutlery - 2000s - slowly getting better food.
Emirates has good food. Air Austria was surprisingly good. British Air is mediocre. The American airlines are awful. Air France is good. Lufthansa is pretty decent. KML is unremarkable.
