Toughie.
Problem is I was in the office until gone 7pm on the first day of Ramadan, I'm too busy to leave at 3pm every day, I just disagree that it's completely not allowed in this office.
Second issue is you just look like you want a month of early finishes and to slack off.
But, you're probably about to say / think that I can't moan if I won't do anything about it so hey ho.

The difference is that you have a career and want to get on. Consider however, the poorly paid admins or tea boys etc who lose out in this situation.

That's what we get told anyway..."you're not Muslim, why should you work less hours?"

Are we going around in circles here? The law states that shorter hours apply to all, so everyone is entitled to a shorter working day, whether fasting or not. What the employer says should be irrelevant as the law applies to all (non-government) employees.
BTW UAE Labour Law does not apply to domestic staff. Or 'domestic servant' as their visas say.

My guys Muslim, Christian or satanists all have 6 hours a day scheduled. Any driver, Tea boy etc who works more than that will get overtime. Sales staff (As Scamp is) who work extra hours to get a deal are reimbursed by the fact the extra hours worked generated them a deal and more bonus.

In my view that's as it should be. Anyone on commission can choose what they do and if you are in a well-paid senior role you use common sense.
For those of us who are self-employed, life goes on as normal. *strains to hear a lone violin*

It's all irrelevant for me. I have a promotion to get.
