The fashion models were a total waste of time. For the last two weeks we have had some fabulous female role models on our screen and someone thought that dragging out these anorexic, coke-guzzling, vacuous divas was appropriate?

No. I hate lousy role models that are held up to be icons. The female athletes are the role models that you should want for young women. They have worked hard to get where they are on their merit and talents. Too often the media shows such a warped vision of women that it is no wonder so many young women, and older ones too, have body issues and strange ideas of how to get on in life.
Who would you want your daughter to aspire to be like, Jessica Ennis or someone like Katie Price?

[QUOTE=Bahtatboy;10224598]And you accuse us guys of dragging this down by comparing women's bodies? And which one looks aneroxic?
Aneroxic? (sic)
Yes, you lot were started going on about the Spice Girls and the state of parts of their bodies. So often threads end up being no more than a discussion of the imperfections or otherwise of women's bodies, as if that is all a woman ever has to offer. Can you not see that it becomes rather tiresome?
The self-centred, blood diamond wearing, phone throwing, coke snorting Naomi Campbell is such a good role model...

Oh I should also have said I totally agree with Meow - even though I was perving over Tom Hiddleston earlier. Who is not a sporting role model he is however excellent at Shakespeare. Cultural seeee! lol
Seriously though it is rather annoying when all men can discuss is the state of the spice girls thighs, rather than the fact they are also vacuous and bland representations of "girl power".
