Loads of us either download via torrent or buy pirate movies.
Why is this? Is it because they are free / very cheap, available before the legal versions / uncensored?
Just curious - if there was a legal high quality download to own / download to rent would you use it (possible hi def offerings too)?
e.g. Download to rent - either for 24 hours or for 3 views for 10dhs...

Oh and with my PS3 I've been dying to get some blu ray DVDs, went to Virgin at MoE yesterday, rubbish choice and AED 160 each,
christ I'm not paying thirty quid for a ****ing DVD.

it think the answer in part lies with convenience and correct pricing.
ask the same question about music - you can get it very easy for free, however iTunes recently became the biggest music retailer in the US with over a 6 billion tracks paid for and download in 6 years.

For a download service that is quick and reliable, I'd be willing to pay although him indoors is the downloader, not me, so don't blame me Auto!
If we want films to continue to be made then there has to be a revenue stream, although I also agree with Roadkill's comment about actors being overpaid, I mean $20M for one film FFS!
Unlike musicians who have an option to earn money from touring (and rest assured the bigger names do very well from this), actors/film makers/etc don't have quite the same option.

Oh and the fact that everything is censored here and the cinemas are full of people bringing babies and mobile phones.

in the magic kingdom, downloads are (just about) the only way to go. i can't imagine an online film provider working because of the 'net speeds.
