I have really not followed any of it, apart from the odd headline but that really is all, not looked at any of the threads on BE in TIO or the Lounge. Saw a pic of the mother today, for the first time, not seen the dad.
My gut feeling says the mother killed her by accident, and everything that happend afterwards was to cover it up...and the father knows about it as well.

No, it didn't really impact me much until now, either.

Can you imagine what wierd cross-wiring would have to go on in a head to make it behave like that???

I just hope the police have got it right - it would be inhumane beyond description if they're wrong...

If it is true i predict a hollywood movie based upon the story within 5 years. I curse it to flopdom in advance.

it hasn't looked good for both parents from the start as far as i'm concerned...but i hate judging them until something has been proven...

yes...I can actually imagine it to a certain extent...to start down a path that is wrong and you know it, but at a certain point it easier to keep on going than to own up...
I actually looked at my own 4 year old daughter when she was napping this afternoon thinking about this case cause I had seen that pic of the mother today, and I cannot imagine killing her on purpose. But to think that something happend by accident, and after that not thinking straight at all making some wrong decisions and then just keeping on going down that wrong road...I can see that happen.

I also 'hope' that this is how it happend, an accident follow by the most stupid behaviour by the parents....and not some child abusing kidnapping type of thing.

You're right. I actually hope that she fell down a rabbit hole, has had a lovely time and that the queen of hearts is bringing her home from wonderland right now with a plateful of jamtarts - or at least that she's alive & well somewhere.

Let me re-phrase. The police better be bloody sure that the parents did it.

Well.. I'd rather they were wrong.. I just cant imagine a mother acidentally killing her child and being hard enough to play a game for this long... I know without a doubt that I could not do it.

i heard a psychiatrist theorizing that if the mother killed the child by accident, the truth would be so unacceptable that her mind could do this major denial fantasy and construct an elaborate fantasy that was more paletable than the truth. Scarey thing is she could very well believe her own fantasy.
