Re: More madness from UAE Courts...
Hmmmm... I've been conned into driving so many times then!
I was gonna ask if pregnant women can physically fit between the seat and the steering wheel, but I'd probably get tons of sarky responses....
Maybe I am confusing planes and cars ... When I started driving here I tried shifting the car into reverse and ended up opening the window.

I have only heard some of the stuff on the news and haven't read the full story but I gained the impression that the blood money was for the guy in the car which she hit rather than the baby. If not, it seems nonsensical even from a UAE perspective. Please correct me if I am wrong, which is probably the case.

The blood money is to be paid to the next sprog, for loss of sibling, by the sounds of it....

I thought I read that the blood money is to be paid to the unborn baby's next of kin, which I would assume was one of the parents. Madness really - the wife paying the hubby for the kid.

That is correct and no one has mentioned the father in all of this his comments remain out of the media and I wonder why that would be ?

Maybe she doesn't have one?? In which case, that's why they treated her so badly?? I don't know - this country and its laws are enough to drive us all round the bend
