good movies

Re: good movies
Watched a film last night called 'Somewhere' by Sofia Coppola very similar in style to 'Lost in Translation'. I had seen it before but had forgotten it.
It was on Dubai 1 or one of those shit channels so was fairly heavily cut, but well worth a look if you catch on another channel.
It is very slow paced but I liked it a lot.

I owe you all an apology - when something great is due to appear on local TV, I try to alert everyone........... but I dismally failed to let you know of a very rare showing on OSN Movies Comedy yesterday morning of Raising Arizona, an early Coen brothers classic. Genuine laugh-out-loud funny stuff, for those who haven't seen it.
I will punish myself in suitable fashion.

Watched The Heat last night. Buddy movie with Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy. Really rather entertaining and I predict a sequel.

Re: good movies
Not sure if it really counts as a movie (it was made as one), but watched--mesmorised--most of the Stones' Sweet Summer Sun, their recent Hyde Park gig. Outstanding.

Curious........... went to see the latest Robert de Niro 'comedy', locally known as Malavita but released everywhere else as The Family. Strange film - very funny in parts (Mafia family hiding out in a sleepy French village, resorting to their 'usual' methods when things go wrong) but sluggish and ponderous in others. 6/10.
Michelle Pfeiffer still looks good though...........
