No, but thanks for remembering. So we are planning an excursion over to Dubai to pick one up (just an excuse to experience Dubai really) so will bump the thread up again closer to the time to find out where there we can get one.
Don't know when though as we are waiting for the school to offer her a job as we will then sort her visa at the same time as she is on unemployment at the moment and the school want her to work there as an assistant teaching and special needs.

Well done Mrs Riseborough!! you will have to come up to Dubai for half term then. Flights are cheap with Air Arabia, we used them the last time we went to Muscat.

Unfortunately my childrens half term at their school seems to be different from every other British School, as they follow the Oman school timings

I don't know why, I see it as a good thing they get to meet and mix with as many kids as possible, plus during playtime they will see their best friends from last year anyway...

Re: First day of school
My wife took my daughter for the first time - there were tears and sobbing, lots of distress - but at least my daughter was all right.........
She went up to a teacher and said 'excuse me but my mummy won't stop crying - can you please help her?' Good grief.........
BC - a couple of comments you made.......... you said "never" when Insel suggested (whether seriously or not) a boarding school. I felt the same many years ago (and of course yours is still far too young now), but boarding (from 8 onwards) has utterly transformed my two. They are outgoing, self-reliant, bags of character and generous to a fault....... would they have turned out like that anyway? Not sure......... I suspect not. But - here comes the bleedin' obvious statement - it has to be a 'good' school.........
You also said you chose a school (Regent?) because it was near your home - ouch! Not a good reason if you forgive my impertinence - I hope it's a 'good' school too?
And this thread has produced one record-breaking performance - a post from MH of more than one line..... it was also sensible and thought-provoking..... nice one MH.
