Yep, I read somewhere once that you only get majority influence over your kid up to the age when they go to school - then the primary source of a child's self-perception shifts towards the school environment & their peer group....

I know how you will feel my little puppy is going on the 14 sept to school for 3.5 hours a day I will will be sad but she is just so happy to go to see her friend and brother

You're not alone BC! I am petrified about letting my little girl travel by bus in the afternoon
My kid will be going into FS2 in Horizon (she skipped reception). She is really looking forward to going to school - complete opposite to her big sis who had separation anxiety till she was in Grade 2!

BC what you are feeling is absolutely natural and normal. It can be one of the most traumatic times for a parent but when she comes home you will have the competition of her new teacher whom she will also adore. Keep busy on her first day, go shopping or have your hair done, she is going to be absolutely fine. If she is fretful on her first day give her something small of yours to look after and tell her she will be able to give it back to you when you collect her from school. When I worked in a kindergarten I always told my new Mums this and it worked a treat everytime. She is going to be absolutely fine, be brave
