The English Patient is my fav but being a ruffy tuffy bloke I probably should also throw in a few other choices.. watched The Descendants which was enjoyable and War Horse is a good bit of Spielberg. Anyone see the Thing (not the original John Carpenter but the prequel that came out last year ? Don't watch it in a dark room .. or in the snow.

I'm on a roll lately................ on the day it pulled in ELEVEN Oscar nominations (admittedly many of them for minor stuff like sound editing etc), I caught "Hugo" by Martin Scorsese, which is unlike anything he has ever done before.
Utterly loved it, and I wish I'd been at home to take my mum with me (she rarely enjoys a film these days). Various Brits scattered around in cameos, but stealing the show is Chloe Moretz, best known as the girl from Kick-Ass. Highly recommended. |

Catfish - Its a documentary about about Facebook and how you shouldn't always believe what you read...really really good Talhotblonde - This was brilliant. "This is the true story of a love triangle that takes place entirely online. Lies lead to murder in real life." watched all 3 recently and thought they were brilliant... |

Watched The Rum Diary last night. It's a bit ' Withnail with added sun & rum' but well styled and I rather enjoyed it.
