It can work, but the wait between restarts can be frustrating. Difficult to gauge when its actually worth investing in a whole new system. Nice to have new hardware, even if there's a learning curve for the software. Newer software usually also has a Siri-type function, which at least tries to help you, and at the very least will give you a hand.

So truly I don't know that much about other differences but...
The Apple camera app has limited capabilities. But spend a couple of quid for a "real" camera app and things get interesting. Checkout 645 Pro to add that Hasselblad factor. Fully adjustable ISO, shutter speed, white balance, histogram displays and on a 6s and 7 full RAW image saving, yeah 20+ MB image size. Bit like a full blown DSLR in your hand phone. Okay not quite but still something neat for camera junkies. Google for more.
Beware though, your battery might not be impressed

Trouble is, I've had my current model for 30 years, and its all analogue (maybe a few systems are actually still steam-driven). A new model would be all digital -- I've never found a decent O&M manual for these things, and I'm a bit worried I'd spend all that money and get nowhere-near the full benefit of it. I could end up just pushing buttons and twiddling knobs but not really get to explore its full capability.

With older models don't you run into the problem of the the mobile taking forever to charge and the battery draining very quickly as well?
I'd worry about spending lots of money on repairs and upgrades when odds are it could just stop working at a critical moment, leaving you alone and frustrated.
Isn't it better to go for a new model, they may be more high maintenance but don't they last longer and are more reliable whenever you want them (as long as you have the data and paid your bills, of course).

at the right angle you can catch the wide eyes, the excited mouths, the salivating lips. But it is harder than it looks to make the shots seem ever so casual.
