Got issued with a brand new iPhone 7 as a company phone here in Qatar.
Still have my old Samsung Galaxy from the UAE.
So far, can't see what the iPhone fuss is all about. Samsung is clearly superior. Easier to use, easier to type, easier to email, better camera, better battery life. Altogether a much better product.
Others, I'm sure, will digress. What do you prefer? Android or iPhone?

Teasing aside I prefer the Iphone, Some time ago I had a Google Nexus 4 which was quite good as it had Googles clean version of Android but I think I prefer the hassle free experience of IOS plus the seamless integration with my Macbook and Imac

iPhone is light years ahead of anything Samsung.
It's like comparing the BMW i8 to a donkey.

I'm the same. I have used both android and Apple phones for years.
At the moment I'm on an old Samsung Galaxy S5 as me personal phone and an iPhone 6s work phone.
Android is a couple of years ahead in almost every way. The iPhone is over marketed and targeted at people who are scared of phones. Its incredible that they get away with charging so much for an interior product

Agreed. I allow that there's a built-in familiarity to one or the other that makes its users likely to prefer whichever they went with first, but trying to take an open mind the one thing I find infuriating is how many more steps you have to take with the iPhone.
For example: if I want to add a period or comma I have to switch to a different keyboard!??! Whoever at Apple thought that was acceptable should be taken out back and shot.
Or trying to add attachments to an email. A right bl**dy pain.
iPhones relay way too much on that single touch feature whereas Android have additional touch functions that's easy for the thumb/fingers to use and makes it much quicker to do what you need to do.

I've always preferred the iPhone mainly for the aforementioned sync with Macbook and iPad.
A couple of times I did get bored and dabbled with Android phones, but realistically, found the OS a bit too ugly/clunky to be honest. Ended up going back to iPhones, now on a 6Splus.
However, I do prefer the MS apps on the Macbook. Word and Excel particularly beats anything that OS has to offer, tried Pages, Numbers and all that , plus tried to make Open Office a go to favourite, but just didn't cut it.
Really like the OS but some the apps could be betterer. Still regard some of Nokia Symbian S60 phones as the best ever though. They were doing stuff years ago that some phones can't even do now.

Just curious, what do you sync with your macbook and iPad?
I have both a Macbook and iPad (never use the latter, though). Are you talking about taking photos and then having it automatically upload to your Macbook?
In Android pics were backed up with picasa (or whatever it's called now) and popped up on both my phone and in my online picasa account.
Is there anything else you sync?
On a side note (and one that would probably be sacrilegious to some of you) I have a fancy Macbook (third one) but increasingly rely on my work issued Dell for just about everything now. Macbook is fine, definitely a (slightly) superior product but I don't know if I'd buy another one as the value isn't really there any more, beyond marketing/branding and aesthetics. I only use the Macbook for looking at things the I don't want the company to know I'm looking at

No, it's a simple solution to wanting full stops.
Also, rotating the screen gives you full stops and commas, but i hate typing like that, so I somehow survive hitting the button to get the comma.
I've had iPhones since the 3G which I think was the second one.
I wouldn't swap now because I'm too far invested in Apple with the iphone, ipads, watch, macbook and boat loads of cloud storage (which I really need to tidy up).
My Sister is all Samsung, from the tablets to phones and loves them. Says iPhones are 'too common' with, honestly, no sense of irony.
What I do really enjoy though, is that the iPhone 7 I bought last week hasn't caught fire yet. Jackpot.
