****** and ******** - is shooting too good for them?

Re: ****** and Partners - is shooting too good for them?
My current contact at DV&P is more than helpful, certainly knowledgeable and as a result I no longer deal with my FA back in the UK. Keeps us up to speed with how things are going, and meets regularly to give updates and inform us of any new products that fit the requirements we have provided to them.
I have seen a lot of bad experiences on here with them, but honestly I see no problem with my experience to date.

I know a number of advisors who work for self styled "reputable" companies who have ripped off their clients in ways that would make many consultants at De****s look like saints.
As for their hiring practices...well I know of other companies that hire people and don't provide them with visas until they hit certain targets but harp on about being ethical and wonderful ( I suppose subscribing to the labour law of the country you're in doesn't fall under ethics!). Such companies have problems when they hire dodgy salesmen who rip their clients off then do a runner because they cannot legally get their money back from the salesman...like the bloke who ripped off someone I knew and then went to work for another one of these "reputable" companies.
I also know of companies that recommend products and services that are not registered legally in the UAE as well but go on about great they are (so great they can't open a office here but are happy to take people's money ).
Ultimately it's important to distinguish between the product and the person who sells it to you. I don't know many people who slander the car industry because they were lead to believe their VW Polo would be a great offroad vehicle...but I am sure they would have a lot to say about the salesman who flogged them that car for that purpose.
