The presence of a Japanese engineer, who was studying under Benjamin Baker at the time, does not dilute the Britishness of the bridge.

That's supreme nit-picking though. If I wore a hat, it'd be off to that one :D

Thank you most of you for your input, it really does show just how GREAT the country is. Britain has produced some of the greatest engineers in history. We are still world famous for our automotive design and engineering, we have produced and continue to produce some of the greatest cars, motorbikes and planes not forgetting most of the top Formula One teams.

I must admit I like Terry Wogan, he has a great sense of humour. Bruce Forsyth on the other hand is about 40 years past his sell by date and now looks like a caricature.
