Ah see, I thought Larry King was so past his sell by date that it wasn't funny, so I don't mind a replacement. That said, I don't actually watch American TV ever so it doesn't really make much difference to me
All I know of Piers Morgan is the Ricky Gervais interview I saw today and I thought it was truly fascinating.

Have to add I am only judging on what I have heard.....don't watch tv very much.

I forget the details but didn't he get fired for participating in a scam whereby their "investment specialist" writer would tout stocks, usually obscure, penny or low value ones, which Moron, the "specialist" and some other bod would buy before the articles were written and then, when the suckers followed the advice and drove the price up, they bailed and made a tidy profit. They did this for a while before they were rumbled. He has zero credibility in the UK apparently which is why he is in the US.

Funnily enough my wife and me had been talking about danish bacon this afternoon for tea, so she got it out of the freezer, chat progressed to the full english with yummy Richmond sausage, a Fresh Egg, and Heinz Beans of course, then I saw the pic and that did it, it looked so Yummy to me, I could have eaten it and the english mushrooms too, Love those ... hahahaaaaaaaaa
We never did cook the danish bacon, I got watching Karl Pilkington in China on the show "An Idiot Abroad" and laughed so hard, plus I felt a but rough afterwards, I never eat chinese and that show was a perfect example why, No Toilet paper...
So its Danish Bacon Cobs for breakfast, it may be expensive, about $9 a packet, even so we enjoy it so why not, its a luxury we dont mind having every once in a while.
BTW, Sally we both loved the show, you were right, this might sound crazy but I found myself agreeing with Karl so much, then again I'm funny about clean backsides, hands and cooking sanitation.
Gervais, Merchant and Piklington have a cartoon show, Fridays on HBO "The Ricky Gervais show" where they discuss Pilkingtons thoughts and diary, its very amusing too, typical british humor, I'm sure weve all known someone like Karl.

When you listen to what Ricky has to say it makes sense, at least to me, Ricky doesn't give a rats, and good for him, Watching that interview made me feel like the Brits were taking over, Yikes.

I have to admit I liked his Gervais and Stern interviews although they seemed to bounce around on subject matter as I was getting into it.

Re: US Healthcare discussion moved from Over 50's & 60's thread
I have moved countries 3 times, twice as a "middle-aged" person. There are issues and challenges that have been completely different to the ones I faced as a twenty something.
Some of the challenges can be shared and the support from others on how to go about them is invaluable. I love the support and just general chit chat as well as the focussed way to-do certain things. Now none of them are going to be all things to all people no matter which country we are moving to, but the idea of taboo subjects seems to be a less supportive forum.
If ideas are touted in a thread that need to be kept for future reference then maybe that particular post can also be given its own thread or wiki-ed (if you know how, I am sorry I dont).
Like others I am disappointed that I now have to check 3 threads instead of one, so maybe the alternative is to all go back to the original and post on whatever we want to. At least it is all in one place there.
Sorry just some disjointed thoughts, and probably not very helpful, as I have come full circle.

If you dont like the title get it changed, the above title sounds perfect, or set up a new one like you suggested.
Please dont change the title of this thread.
To be honest I'm tired of moving or starting new threads, I havent been on the new thread much because I have limited time and want to stick with one or two at the most, I will stay here no matter what happens, I know its not the perfect title for some but Healthcare is a BIG issue here in America and not to sound selfish but its a very big issue for me and others at the moment as our Government is trying to sort out its differences.
Thanks...

How about moving countries when you are an un-young couple.
I have moved countries 3 times, twice as a "middle-aged" person. There are issues and challenges that have been completely different to the ones I faced as a twenty something.

I Agree, I think we should go back to the old thread, at least most people are over there at some point anyway, If someone bothers you just avoid them like I do.
The 3 threads doesnt work for many of us, so you are not alone, 2 threads are more than enough for me, It will sort itself out somehow.

Re: US Healthcare discussion moved from Over 50's & 60's thread
Why don't we whittle down the 3 threads to 2? Those who want to talk about JUST USA Healthcare can do so on here, for some of us like me in Australia or people in Canada it means very little............except to commiserate.
And for those of us wanting a general overview of life as people in our 50's and 60's and wanting to talk about other subjects, even idle chit chat then we do so on the old/first thread........we can just talk about anything on there seemingly EXCEPT US healthcare for some unknown reason.........but at the end of the day this is a PUBLIC forum............

Re: US Healthcare discussion moved from Over 50's & 60's thread
We are going up today, and staying with my sister, we pick up the van on Wednesday, and will have to put our stuff back in storeage again until
we find somewhere to live, but as I said before th price of rentals are getting out of hand here. The banks are not giving mortages out to anyone so everyone is going for rentals, so keep fingers crossed for us my sister is going to spain on Tuesday and she has said we can stay in her house while she is away and look round, and then if we are not fixed up she has a holiday home in Donegal, approx 100 miles from Belfast and she has offered us that until we get something, sorr y Beedubya if I am repeating myself, I know i said this before just can't remember which thread it is awkward the 3 threads now, and so time consumming. I agree with you though about the health care seperate from the over 50's as I don't understand the health care system in the states, but am happy for anyone to talk about whatever they like)

I guess whether or not you think it's rude depends on whether you interpret it literally. I've also heard it expressed as "into himself".
Reminds me of the British expression "Well blow me down" (as an expression of surprise). I have used that in the States, as well as the shortenend version, "Well, blow me ..." - I soon realised that had a very different connotation, and stopped saying it! (I'm sure that was a common expression in the UK, or am I imagining it?)
Same thing as asking the schoolkids if they all had rubbers ... that almost got me in trouble, too.
